LAFAYETTE — After 44 years, Bob Wise, Vice President of Citizens Bank Minnesota, Lafayette Branch, will retire on April 2.
Wise joined Citizens, Lafayette Branch, in December 1992 as a V.P./Branch Manager. Prior to that he worked at Citizens State Bank of Lafayette, starting in November 1976 as a teller and working his way up to President in December 1992 when the bank was sold to, and merged with, Citizens Bank of New Ulm. He was a graduate of several Minnesota banking schools and a graduate of Graduate School of Banking in Madison, WI. Outside of Citizens, Wise served the community in many roles through his involvement with the Lafayette Area Lions Club, the Lafayette Community Club, the Lafayette City Council, First Lutheran Church of Lafayette, the New Ulm Basketball Association and as a board member of the New Ulm Area Foundation, Oak Hills Living Center and The Grand Center for Arts & Culture. He has also spent many years involved in fundraising for diabetes research and education through participation in the ADA Mankato Diabetes Walk and the New Ulm Diabetes Walk.
Bob and his wife, Jill, will continue to reside in New Ulm after his retirement to be close to family and friends.
