Trinity University President Announces Retirement Seven Years Later

San Antonio – Trinity University President Danny Anderson has announced that he will retire at the university in seven years.

Anderson will leave at the end of the school year in May 2022, the university said in a news release on Monday.

During his tenure as the 19th President of the University, the school was ranked number one in the Western Regional University in the 2022 Best College Rankings of the US News & World Report. This is the 29th time the university has created a ranking in the last 30 years.

In his work, Anderson also created a task force of diversity and inclusiveness, working on Trinity’s campus master plan, including refurbishment and new construction, the university said.

“I am honored to be President of Trinity University since June 2015. During that time, we have worked together to set a new trajectory for Trinity University, thereby focusing on student success and affiliation. So we can raise the status of the country, “Anderson said in a statement. “I’m keen on the bright future of Trinity, but the pandemic has given me the opportunity to revisit my personal priorities.”

“The support for faculty and staff is unwavering and essential to achieving our goals as a higher education institution,” said Melody Boonmeier, a Trinity graduate and chairman of the board.

“I have the utmost respect and appreciation for President Anderson, his many achievements, and Trinity’s vision for the future, and I deeply feel that he has lost his steady leadership. Fully respects his decision to retire, “Meyer said.

A committee of directors, faculty, students and graduates will be set up to find a new president.
