With the Rockies preparing for the 2021 All-Star Game, they announced Wednesday that their Aug. 21 celebration for Larry Walker’s jersey retirement and induction into the Hall of Fame will be rescheduled for Saturday, Sept. 25.
The class of 2020 will be inducted on Sept. 8 in an outdoor ceremony in Cooperstown, N.Y.
Walker will be the first Rockies player to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. He will join the Hall alongside Derek Jeter, Marvin Miller and Ted Simmons.
On Sept. 25 the Rockies take on the Giants, with special pregame ceremonies for Walker and the unveiling of his retired No. 33 jersey. Along with the pregame ceremonies, fans will have the chance to take photos with Walker’s Hall of Fame plaque and all fans in attendance will be given a complimentary Larry Walker Hall of Fame bobblehead. On Sunday, Sept. 26 the Rockies will also have a promotional giveaway where the first 15,000 fans in attendance will receive a commemorative No. 33 lapel pin.
