Masahiro Sakurai and Katsuhiro Harada will talk about retirement during Harada’s Bar stream at 8 a.m. PDT / 11 a.m. EDT

Last week, Masahiro Sakurai — the man behind the Super Smash Bros. series — appeared as a guest on Harada’s Bar, a weekly YouTube show hosted by Katsuhiro Harada. We’re getting plenty of opportunities to learn about the mysterious Masahiro Sakurai with some of the topics being covered.

Another episode is set to debut today at 8:00 a.m. PDT / 11:00 a.m. EDT. It seems that the two will be talking about the subject of retirement today.

Of course, Sakurai has already spoke about the appeal of an early retirement in a previous Famitsu Column. With Sakurai now 50 years old, it really could happen at any time now.

For the time being, it seems that Sakurai is wanting to continue with game development for just a little bit longer. “Everything must come to an end,” said Sakurai back then. “It’s better to stay busy and do my best, as long as I can put up with it.”

Sakurai has always pondered on the idea of a Smash title in the future where he isn’t involved. The culmination that is Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is said to be Masahiro Sakurai’s “life’s work,” so there are those that speculate that this latest entry could be Sakurai’s last Smash title.

It seems that we’ll be hearing more of what Sakurai has to say on this subject when the episode is live. Check it out below:
